overview and pricing

Shorter term therapy and CBT is not suitable for everyone, CBT is dynamic, practical and active with the focus on making changes, rather than just talking. In order to ensure the type of therapy I offer is a good fit, I offer a free 15 minute consultation call for a brief discussion. Depending on the nature of the issue, we may consider appropriate alternative recommendations for your support.

Cost of sessions: from £80

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY (CBT)

CBT sessions are 50 minutes and take place online or face to face (dependent on location). Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), is a talking therapy which identifies a person’s unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns and helps break vicious cycles using evidence based therapeutic
approaches. The techniques and strategies in CBT are designed to instil thoughts and actions that are more positively affirming for an improved quality of life. CBT is effective in the treatment of a range of anxiety presentations and depression, as well as a broad range of both mental and physical health problems.

These include but are not limited to:

  • Work stress

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Pain management

  • Perfectionism

  • Self-esteem issues

EMDR

EMDR sessions are 60 -90 minutes and take place online or face to face (dependent on location).

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy that helps people who are experiencing distressing symptoms triggered by traumatic and adverse life events.

The process is delivered in a unique way using a technique called ‘bilateral stimulation’ to facilitate the process of the brain ‘healing itself’. It prevents difficult memories causing continued distress by supporting the brain to reprocess them properly and overcome past pain.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THERAPY?

  • An initial assessment identifying your presenting difficulties, symptoms and present impacts on quality of life. We will also explore your 'goals' for therapy and discuss an appropriate treatment plan

  • Structured sessions focusing on the contributing factors of your presenting issue and identifying what is maintaining the problem

  • Goal setting to discuss a way forward

  • This is a collaborative process. You will play an ‘active role’ in therapy and the outcomes. The sessions we have will help us figure things out together. However, utilising strategies and engaging with techniques between sessions will encourage lasting change

  • Although we may spend some time talking about past events and experiences, the primary focus is on making changes in the 'here and now'

  • There are no 'set' number of sessions for change. Your experiences and presentation are individual. But please be prepared for sessions to last anything between 6-20 sessions.
